15 March: In conversation with author Marlee Jane Ward

March is a huge month of creative writing events here at Macquarie. Over three Thursdays, there will be dozens of writers, publishers and readers in conversation, so come along and hear them discuss their books and ideas.

We start off with Marlee Jane Ward, who studied creative writing at the University of Wollongong and attended the Clarion West Writers Workshop in 2014. Her first novella, Welcome to Orphancorp, won the 2016 Victorian Premiers Literary Award for Young Adult Fiction, and was shortlisted for The NSW Premiers Award, an Aurealis Award, and the Norma K Hemming Award.

Fast-paced, gritty and original, her second novel Psynode follows on from Welcome to Orphancorp, and confirms Marlee Jane Ward as one of Australia’s best YA authors. Come and meet her in conversation on Thursday, 15th March, 6-8pm in building Y3A218. All welcome, simply rsvp to jane.messer@mq.edu.au.
