Enter the MAZE: the new hub for clubs and societies

MAZE

You may notice something new opened up on Level 3 of C7A. Welcome to the Macquarie Active Zone Experience (MAZE for short), a brand-new space for our 130-plus student clubs and societies to meet and collaborate.

The purpose-built space was named by students, and student consultation was an integral part of the design process based on your survey feedback. It features multiple larger areas with facilities that student groups can book for large meetings, as well as several smaller meeting rooms for more intimate discussions and team gatherings.

Level 3 will also boast five new event spaces with brand-new AV equipment rounding out the high-tech facilities on this floor. As in the past, event spaces can be booked by staff through the Crunch Events & Catering team.

So, what does this mean for MUSE and Bassline? Their operating hours are now Monday to Friday 7am to 10pm, and 10am to 6pm on weekends. The Campus Engagement team and Accommodation Office will be located on the same level enabling easy access for students to the services they provide, as well as Women’s Room, Queer Space, student lockers and vending machines.

Keen to take a tour through MAZE? They’re being offered at 2pm every day during this opening week. No RSVP required, just turn up! The Grand Opening will be held at 6pm on Friday 20 October to coincide with the annual Student Group Awards night.

Your feedback was essential to creating this incredible space! Now you can do the same thing for Campus Common – our new social precinct on campus to open soon. Complete the survey now on what you’d like to see in this exciting new hangout.
